Deployment of our Smart City solution to transform Cangas del Narcea into a sustainable and connected city.

Our client

Cangas del Narcea, the largest council of Asturias (824 km2) with a population of more than 12,000 inhabitants, contacted IoTsens in order to introduce its city in the Smart City concept with the ultimate goal of improving the welfare and quality of life of the citizens.

The project

Cangas del Narcea and IoTsens studied the different possibilities to finally implement the best combination of elements that would generate a considerable impact on the city’s infrastructure.

Among the different installations that can now be monitored in this area of Asturias are the following:

  • LoRaWAN network.
  • Parking sensors
  • Air quality sensors
  • Sound level sensors
  • CO2 sensors

The entire installation is a pilot project that can be scaled both in quantity and areas such as the monitoring of electricity consumption, water supply network, smart commerce, container filling control and a multitude of applications that will transform Cangas into a leading city in terms of smart cities.
